Back and Ready to Party!

I'm back after a very long hiatus with a lot to catch up on. I've had many events these past few years, on which I've worked for days, weeks and sometimes months and am excited to share my ideas that have come to life.

Without further ado, I present: my Champagne and Navy wedding! circa 8-2011

Little navy touches included the napkins and the ribbon around the homemade truffles in white favor boxes. I didn't want the darker color overwhelming the champagne and blush touches, as it was a summer wedding.

Buttercream, no fondant please!

A framed board housing our announcement, invitation and an engagement photo helped our guests know they were in the right place, and sent a guest from another wedding at the reception hall looking for their correct destination!

My florist used white hydrangea with blush spray and regular roses to fill my bouquet and the centerpieces, and small bunches of about ten cream roses for my bridesmaids who traveled across the country for the event.

Wedding in the Wings

Wow, it's been an obscenely long time. Fortunately, I am now working in interior design, so I guess the time off paid off. I always say, follow your passion no matter what. And try, at the very least, to make ourselves happy. So after years of letting this blog rot, I am back to begin a rebirth and celebrate design!

I am now planning a wedding, for August to the man I love and would love to share my ideas! Is there a better place than my beloved design blog? I think not. The colors are champagne and navy, which it's hard to google and not get a million hits for actual military weddings. I do think the dress blues add something dignified to the whole affair, but I digress. Please see the attached inspiration board!

More Autumn Candy!

I found beautiful chafing dishes, neglected and tarnished on the shelf of a dusty antique store. With a little polish and a lot of elbow grease, I have brought them back to life.

Halloween fast approaches, and I am all stocked up on candy for the trick-or-treaters who come to my door!

Autumn Fun!

I love autumn, even though it's still technically summer... and I have yet to see a single leaf cascade to the ground. This fall I have decided to use candy to add color to my decor. I love Halloween and the childish part of me loves the crinkling wrappers! Using my dishes and dessert trays, candy and lollipops add an inexpensive and bright touch to what might otherwise be a little dark for the lighting in my space. This style element is probably not advisable for longterm use in a home with small children! ;)

Tiffany Napkins!

I am planning a small tea party for a friend's wedding. I found these inexpensive Tiffany blue napkins, and could not resist! Enjoy!!!

A simple thing

This is my first post, an attempt to share some of the little fun things and simple beauty in this world. This first post deals with the very little fun things - the minature world of doll houses! Please enjoy a few of the pictures of my favorite collector from flickr! http://www.flickr.com/photos/cjtgsm/3641341367/in/photostream/
